Old Townhall Restoration, Pettah

7 photographs

A conservation-led proposal for the restoration and adaptive reuse of the historic Old Town Hall and Old Edinburgh Market in Pettah, Colombo. The project reimagines these iconic heritage buildings as vibrant civic and cultural destinations, transforming the Old Town Hall into the Colombo Museum of City Administration and Governance and the Old Edinburgh Market into a product promotion and multi-activity centre. By preserving their architectural heritage while introducing new public functions, the proposal revitalizes the historic precinct as a dynamic urban landmark that celebrates Colombo’s civic history, culture, and commerce.
